Warning Signs you Should Worry About Getting a PC Virus

Slow Start Up and Sluggish Performance

If you are observing that your PC takes longer time than usual to boot up, then your PC may have a virus. Additionally, if the performance of your PC has become really slow, check to make sure if it’s due to lack of storage space or poor internet speed. If you find no such signs, then start worrying because your PC may be infected with a virus.

Missing Or Unwanted Files

Some viruses may permanently delete or move your files or programs around. Others may install copies of itself or unwanted infected files in your PC. So, when you start noticing some strange things like missing or extra files, it’s a  sign that your PC has been attacked by a virus.

Random Pop Up Windows

Unnecessary pop-up windows with ads on the screen are the common indication of a virus infection. If you start noticing pop-up windows, even when you are not are not using the internet; it’s a sign of a PC virus. Make sure you never click on these unfamiliar windows or links, even if they seem relevant. 

Random Shutdowns

Another common warning sign that your PC has a virus is constant crashing of programs or blue screen of death. If you observe any of these signs, you need to act fast and backup all your files and important programs. 

Hijacked Email

If your friends or colleagues tell you that they have been receiving suspicious messages or links from your email id, your PC might be the victim of a virus. If that’s the case, change the password of your accounts immediately and run antivirus software for PC for better protection.
